The Next Train Standing...

Consists of approx. 75 yards of track, 16 mms. to the foot scale. The gauge of the track is 32 mms. The whole railway attempts to model a typical narrow gauge railway, 2 foot gauge full size, as found in Wales. There is one principal 'through station' with a small sidings serving an animal loading bay and one bay platform. The station has an avoiding loop to allow through trains to pass. A triangular junction allows for the reversal of trains and an ongoing branch line to the rear of the property. The track is set above ground level at a height of approx. 36 inches in order to give good visibility and easy access. I have three locomotives two of which are freelance in design and the third a model of a locomotive still running in Scotland. The rolling stock consists of coaches, guards vans, open wagons, parcel vans, a horse box, a petrol wagon and an open log-wagon. The wagons carry a variety of freight.
Each locomotive is steam powered, gas (propane/Butane) fired and two channel radio controlled. I intend to signal the whole layout with upper quadrant semaphore signals. Eight of these signals are already in place mainly in the station area. Scenery is slowly being built and the present 'tour de force' is my 14 arch viaduct (not quite Ribblehead yet). Great fun !!
