Pressed for Time was written by the great bagpiper Gordon Duncan, whom I hear was also a fiddler. The version here I took from a bit of sheet music I found online, but the first part of the tune I took mostly from this video of Kimberley Fraser and Troy MacGillivray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvW8kUuiujo
So, as typical of me, it has turned out to be some kind of hybrid made of different versions of the same tune. Hope you enjoy!

Also, PLEASE READ: I wanted to propose an idea in case anybody is interested. I've had a few people tell me that they have played along with one or more of my videos to help them practice or learn the tune. When I heard about that I thought to myself "I'd like to hear how they are doing on that tune!" So I'm going to suggest/request video responses from you, to my corresponding video. So whether you learned a tune because of one of my videos, prefer your version and would like to show me, or ANYTHING in between, please post a video response because I would really like to see them!

One more note. I think I'm going to do away with my blog, because most of my views come from YouTube anyways, so I might as well keep uploading here and just add a little more to my descriptions when possible for those who might be interested. I'd like to post the Tune List somewhere on my Channel but I'm not yet sure if that's possible. I'll probably leave the website intact, just don't expect any more updates to the blog itself.

Thanks for reading and happy fiddling!

  • Fine bowing that.

  • WoW! You're really really great! :)

  • Crackin', we have a very similar taste in fiddle tunes I think!

  • @AmorphousAmanda thanks! I'm having a bit of difficulty with this one - it's not my first instrument - did you teach yourself the high melody first or just learn it all at once? Thank you :)

  • Wow! Fantastic. I'm a big fan of the band "Flook". There's a great version (tin whistle & alto flute) of this epic tune on their album "Rubai". You'll find some video clips of it here on YouTube. One of the most exciting live bands I've ever seen.

  • Loved it. Thank you. Great bow work.
