last time i went fishing at south padre island and i caught a small fish i was reeling it in when a seagull flies down and grabs it i tried to yank it down put the hook just came of and the seagull took the fish.I was like WOW ive never seen anything like that.

@dukenns if youre from goa use size 13 hooks you,ll get them from the local store ,use the small clams on the shore break them and put them on the hook im sure you,ll catch the fish called "muddoushi" and crescent perchor "ganvoi"

I like using the Carolina Keeper, no need to tie a swivel.
hey dan..i am from state of goa..thats in india..i hardly see any people fishing on the beach.but a lot of people fish at the mouth of the river...close to where the river and sea connects i have never seen surf perch..the most common fish that we catch are,Long fin cavalla,Indian Salmon,Reef cod,Mangrove red snapper ,Horse mackeral,Indian Mackral,Barracuda,Giant sea perch.....i usually end up catching Perch that are around 2kg+....any tips wat should i try to fish on the beach

Hey dan, have you ever tried using a simple rubbercore sinker instead of a C-Rig for surf-fishing? This way, there are no break-points, other than the hook itself. I used a small rubber-core on 6-lb test, I caught a nice Corbina around seven pounds this way! the line brand was Stren original, #6. Best light line I've ever used!
