Assame is very similar to Sylheti (as Sylhet was once part of Assam, which is NOT Bengali). Historically, Sylheti's ARE NOT BENGALI. We have our own origin, culture, food, and language. We had our own script too, but that got removed when Sylhet became part of Bangladesh.

And for the record, we Sylhetis have mixed sino-tibetian (oriental) gene pool which means our women are fair and beautiful, in contrast the Dhaka people who are typically Black because they have Dravidian (aborigine) lineage as are the South Indians.

Sylhet is the Saving Grace of Bangladesh and the hub of Finance.
