Best of MAME - C - Puzzle

Every puzzle game on MAME starting with C you need to know about.

From worst to best:

5 - Chain Reaction (Magical Drop)
4 - Cue Brick
3 - Chicken Shift
2 - Camel Try
1 - Cachat

I've got some interesting experiments coming down the pipeline. It starts with a couple Let's Play vids of me going through various NES games, blindly checking out ones I've never played.

Well, that got me to thinking about the future of R3, and I think I might try something a bit different in the future. I'm thinking about covering *every* game in my MAME library, spending as much time as necessary on each game. In other words, the vast majority of them can be summed up in a single word or sentence; "average Raiden clone", "stupidly broken", "Japanese puzzle game", "mahjong", "mahjong that doesn't even have a dipswitch to let you skip to the naked anime babes", etc.

I don't know, there's something appealing about that idea to me, and I think it would make the videos more entertaining since you'll get to see tons of games in a rapid fire kind of way. Plus, the open format means I can get as in depth as I want when I deem it necessary. Thus I might cover a whole letter in one ten minute vid, and then go off and spend three vids discussing the virtues of Ninja Baseball Batman. Sounds cool to me.

Cue Brick is difficult. I like it though.

Chicken Shift is superb - so simple, but infuriatingly hard when it gets going.

Cameltry is another one I like - works well with the mouse.

Catchat looks a laugh.

Love Cachat. I played it not too long ago and finally realized that you can actually grab and drag blocks (as long as they are not trapped) as well as turn them.

what Mame emulator do you use, some of the games you review , don't work. Like Blood Bros.
