Congress Honors Female World War II Pilots

Congress has bestowed the highest civilian honor, the Congressional Gold Medal, to female World War Two pilots known as WASPs for their heroic service during the war. In 1942 and 1943, more than 1,000 women answered the call of duty. (March. 10)

About time they did that. Sadly it took this country 65 years to finally recognize their services.

I'm so please to see this honor given. My father was one of their flight instructors during the war and I have lots of photos of that time. A very long overdue honor.

These women were among the bravest of the brave!

My salute to these very brave pilots who helped bring Germany and hitler to their knees.
