A short video installation of sequences of stills and moving images of London East End shot during the past 25 years by photographer Phil Maxwell. With Lola Perrin's music, the stills are threaded together by Hazuan Hashim. They provide a narrative of a place which for centuries has been a refuge/utopia for people from all over the world, becoming a microcosm of global society.

  • Very good, love the city shots :)

  • Thank you for this. I am about to move to Bethnal Green and I will love it with all my heart. Om x

  • Thanks for reminding me of the east end i used to know thanks

  • A simple idea, nicely done, with some amazing characters. It reminded me of parts of THE LONDON NOBODY KNOWS, and I can give it no higher praise. The Brushfield Street overlays at the end were magical. Bravo.
