Christine and Kevin Miller were interviewed about their son Kyle.
The foundation was discussed as well as why children need to be kept harnessed past the minimum requirements for boosters.

It was really a great interview that was well researched and filled with good info for parents.

  • @kennedy24ify please please come to car-seat.org and post for info on programs designed to help people just like you... many safekids programs and other tech organizations help people strapped for cash keep their kids safe by providing seats. There are also less expensive options out now. But of course, the best you can do is what you are doing, using the seats you can afford that fit your kids properly every time.

  • Because of the knowledge that you have given us, our 3 1/2 year old is in a 5-point harness carseat. Thank you! You and your family will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

  • That is so wonderful!!

I know the Millers and what they went through affected so many.

  • Thank you for posting our interview.

  • It was the least I could do... to keep sending this important message of safety.

  • this is a mad world. I kinda look forward to die, myself.

  • my daughter wasn't even 20lbs until she was 18 months and everybody was always talking about how she needs to be turned around because she was 1... ppl don't realize that they should keep kids in seat in til Maximums and instead switch seats at the next seats minimums or at ages... I didn't want my daughter forward facing and then right when I gave in the new standards about keeping kids rear facing as long as possible came out... these seat for older kids have be out for ages for the rich

  • RIP Kyle, March, 13th/ 2002 - May 29th/ 2005, Happy 6th year as an angel! Because of you, there are children being saved by their 5-point harness'! Your changing lives everyday, and your not even with us in body any more. Your legacy lives on, forever, kyle! <3

  • @jsrcamp i was able to get a seat for the baby she is now ERF and will be for awhile she's so tiny i would love to get a graco nautilus for my 5yr old but unfortunetly i can't even afford that right now i'm trying to save up for it i just hope i can get one soon i do a lot of expressway driving especially right now due to her grandpa being ill we are makeing more visits then normal to spend as much time with him as we can thank you for responding to my post

  • @kennedy24ify May I suggest for your 5 year old look at the Graco natulis, it 5 point harnesses up to 65lbs and is one of the cheaper but better seats on the market that harnesses past the 40 lbs limit. I have that one for my 4 year old daughter because I couldnt afford the Birtex brand. and you can also look at any convertibal carseat you can get a cheap one for like 35 dollers that will keep your 18month old ERF till 35lbs or you can find one that ismore expencive that will last longer.

  • Thank you for sharing your story and I am sorry for your loss. In the news they show the difference between the booster seat and the "jumbo seat" and yes, a 3 year old is to small for the seat belt of the car, he is suppose to sit rear facing. In Sweden we don't have 5 point harness when front facing because the recommendations here is rear facing to 5 years and by then they say the child is big enough to use to seat belt of the car. That so called "jumbo seat" is suppose to be rear facing.
