There are both things I like and I don´t like of this version. Let´s start by the positive aspects. MARIANELA. I don´t think I need to say much more. I love the way she "conducts" the willis' movements with her arms. I love the veils on the willis. They add a wonderful touch of mystery.
Negative aspects: I think a wonderful visual effect was lost from 3:30 to 3:49. Watch Tatyana Terekhova´s Myrtha and the willis and you´ll know what I´m talking about. Those willis' arms are magical.

spectacular.....the facial expressions of the Royal Ballet Corps is always something special....they seem to really be in character very moving

look at her. my god, i can feel her presence. she's the best and my favorite! i hope Myrtha and the Willis should be made as a full ballet not just part of Giselle; and Marianela should be the first one to dance it.

We're dancing this for our spring show - I'm Myrtha and a member of the corps. Both are such demanding roles. The corps really should be given more credit. By the end of the Willies dance, I feel as bad as I do at the end of Myrtha's first variation.
Either way, this is by far my favorite interpretation of this ballet. Chilling and beautiful.
She has an amazing ability for characterization. As Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee, she has a childlike lightness. As Gamzatti in La Bayadere, she has a commanding sensuality. In this, she's cold, calculating and utterly regal. Throw in her technique and exquisite musicality, and it's no wonder I can't stop watching her.

Why does no one mention the corps, they hardly ever get the credit they deserve and i think this one did a wonderful job!
