Active lava flows in Guatemala

Near the summit of Volcano Pacaya there are streams and domes of active lava. After a drive to the mtn. south of Guatemala City, you climb for more than an hour and then enter the active 'moonscape'. Best to go late in the afternoon and stay for sunset - the glowing, moving lava is an amazing site. Yes, it is safe. Must take a flashlight for the descent.
