actually the AK-47 has been shown to be AS good as the M-16 with many strengths that overcome some weaknesses. And the accuracy and range is no where near as bad as you claim.

There is a very real reason why the AK-47 and not the M16 is considered the best automatic in the world by most military historians

@Falcon5768 Not "Best" just most important. the 5.56mm NATO round has far superior range, and arguably superior yawing effects when striking a target. On the other hand, the Kalashnikov action is much more reliable, so honestly what's the better weapon? An AK chambered for 5.56mm NATO or 5.45mm such as several of the new AK10x series (I can never remember which is which). So in reality, the two aren't fully comparable, they originally served different functions. IMO AK will outlast AR.

@Falcon5768 What historians in their right mind would believe that an M16 is better than an AK. The M16 level of precision is very high which correlates to the unreliabilty of it. The Ak works because it is a sloppy gun in the first place. But neither of these weapons hold a candle to the MP 44 or Sturmgewehr 44. I have shot all 3. The M16 shoots way to fast, the Aks balance is all other the place, the MP44 feels like your not even shooting anything.

@Falcon5768 The reason its the best isn't because its really good at anything, its because its so simple that it can be made for pretty much nothing, used by pretty much anyone, in pretty much any environment, and still be able to kill people.

@TheMisfit621 What are your thoughts on this? Because I tend to agree.. AR's are filthy pigs, due to the "DI" system.. but if you you mean by "wet" that so long as you keep her lubed up really really well.. she'll keep running as long as you need her to.

So am I correct in assuming you're talking about lotsa lube? A reply would actually be adding a little something to a very special design *wink*
