December 7, 1986 performance at the China Club for Tom and Meg Griffin's birthday - then onto Electric Lady Studios with Mitch Easter. Two songs are shown that wound up on the next album: "Charcoal," a song by Lauren being worked on by Mitch Easter; then it's Bruce on yogurt and Tom on banjo (the Vega given to Tom by that once belonged to Kingston Trio founding leader Dave Guard) trying out new folk songs: one winds up on the 2nd album - "4th Day of July." Mitch discussed to piano notes he later adds to "Can't stop the Rain." He also works on Billy's drum sound with Billy looking on. Tom's friend from TriBeCa via Blair Academy, Charlie Ahern, maker of "Wild Style" made the tape.

  • I was there for some of the Electric Lady mix on the first album. This group was absolutely superb live. I am still waiting for Tom to sell me a CD or something of the second album -- he never got back to me. I am in France now and it is hard to find. I miss Bruce.

  • Forgot to mention that in control at the studio is Mitch Easter... he can make great talent shine even brighter.
