Everyone has his/her own taste....Who are we to criticize these great people? Who are we to compare them ? U people comparing them acc to your taste. Keep your tastes with yourselves...no need to exhibit ur feelings outside which may hurt others. Im a die hard fan of both Illayaraja & A.R Rehman, both of them are great and they belong to 2 different phases of the music. They introduced their own & different trends of music.Plz don't try to compare any 2 people in terms of such art.

look man u may b a diehard fan of these composers but the truth is that they all have copied music........i am a fan of shankar ehsaan loy(they never copy)still arr rulez...i personally think that rdb and illiyaraj are not so good

A.R. Rahman experiments in so many ways that he has totally transformed the look of Indian Cinema. He has created a higher image of Indian film WORLDWIDE. Illayraja and RD Burman are great, but nothing comapared to ARR.
I do note a slight disconnect between ARR's recent tamil films and his hindi films. He tends to do more musical experimentation and mellow music in bollywood, but more modern stuff in the south. I would rather appreciate it if more classical touches were put to his tamil films.
