Ive got one....and they are awesome. You can go right around the knots in most trees, and you dont end up at a 45 degree angle.
You adjust the bottom by pulling up on the string on each side that is attached to the top part....as you do, the stand automatically contracts or expands depending on whether the tree is tapering down, or expanding out.

I use my harness everytime im in a tree. there was only one time i didnt use it cause i forgot it at home

OK, I have to ask - how are you leveling the bottom section like that? It's amazing!
I have an older Amacker climber - not sure which model though. Please let me know about how that bottom section adjusts. It looks like I'm due for an upgrade. :^)

i like self climbers, ecspecialy the primitive ones. it dosnt take much to quiet em some. pine shimmys, and some spray foam. lol first time i used one i was 30ft up and was gonna take one more climb, i got mixed up in the technique and droped good eight feet befor i got a good bite. nope no harnes, now i use it on the way up. good vid
