The world's first "break-in" record, by Bill Buchanan and Dickie Goodman, issued July 1956 on Luniverse 101.

This is a restoration of the original pressing, before copyright lawyers forced Goodman to replace some of the musical clips with other versions of the same songs. Both sides are included.

Although Dickie Goodman's records have been reissued on CD, virtually none of them have escaped the re-editing process, so you can't purchase this recording in this form in a modern format.

  • I have an original 45 with the "L" added with a marker after they discovered there was already a Universe record label.

The record did not hurt the artist that were sampled it made them more famous. Greedy record companies sued Buchanan and Goodman when they should have paying them to have their records sampled.

    The record sounds great!

  • Wow! You ought to have that record appraised. There can't be many of them in circulation anymore. I've never even seen a picture of one. Is there any chance you could scan the label for me, just so I have visual evidence of an original pressing? I would appreciate that very much.

Thank you for the kind words.

  • "John Cameron Cameron" was a take-off of John Cameron Swayze, who at the time this record was released, was anchor of NBC-TV's evening newscast.

Not long afterwards, he was replaced by the team of Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, although his newscast was neck-and-neck with Douglas Edwards' "CBS Evening News" for the lead in evening news ratings.

  • @mojofilter02 do you have a copy of part 3, i had it back in the 60's, might have to check with my brother, take care.

  • I just found a copy of this!

  • the original version is avaliable on a DR DEMENTO complation album, but I found theMR JAWS "CASH" records re issue (in "Stereo") that has been edited, and made into reproduced stereo. 3:20 the first backwards message ever done? maybe not because of Musique Concrete Pierre Schafer and Pierre Henry symphony for a lonely man from the late 40's early 50's
