Jatropha curcas is an important feedstock for the production of biofuels. Its widespread use in India and Egypt is gaining popularity as a quick growing source of oil-bearing nuts that can be pressed to produce biodiesel products.

  • J. Curcas is NOT TOXIC. there are almost 200 other varieties of this plant which are totally toxic from irritation to death indusing. Curcas will not kill you but it is NOT food. Animals will not eat the leaves although the seeds of Curcas are processed into feed after the oil is expressed.
