WATCH THE WHOLE SERIES AT: http://www.vbs.tv/video.php?id=1834405271 This series is about 24 hours in Helmand, Afghanistan's most violent province. I was with the Queen's Company- British soldiers who normally guard Buckingham Palace. Their job was to train the Afghan National Army, whilst fighting the Taliban, an almost impossible combination. On this day we were ambushed late in the morning, then surrounded in a small house belonging to a terrified Afghan family. The battle to get out of the house lasted eight hours. The two most senior soldiers there, both veterans of Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo and Northern Ireland, agreed that it was the most intense day they had ever experienced. One of them has since been awarded a Military Cross. I spent two months in Afghanistan, and I'm sure that what I saw in Helmand is going on in many other parts of the country. We could be there for decades. - Ben Anderson

  • Living is a habit, dying ends that.

  • You are doing nothing for you country or for there country

  • @takewhole a billion is a million million in English money. an American billion is a thousand million.

  • 2.31, PLENTY RPG'S THERE! all anti tank rockets though and the teliban doesnt use tanks. anti personnal fragmentation and thermobaric RPG-7 rockets do exist, they should acquire some.

  • waste of lives, waste of money. £40 billion pounds spent by the UK on this war so far. Yes £40,000 million pounds. Why? because UK expected a return on this investment, the trans-afgan pipleline was supposed to be up and running by now. 15million working people in UK supporting their families. That makes it about £2.5million per working person supporting a family. Of course we'll blame the ethnics when the shit hits the fan. The country is bankrupt. Thanks Tony.
