Response for a message I received about using EQ's to mix songs together.

In doing this video, I make no claims to be an amazing DJ. Instead, I posted this video to share what I have learned and hopefully shed some light on the skill of beatmatching for new DJs.

  • I'm really new to Djing, I just got my numark ns7. I didnt really understand this, but can you tell me what i should do first to practice beatmatching and mixing. Can you teach me the basic stuff about mixing and stuff.

    Thanks

  • @SWAT487 If you check out some of my other videos, it may help you. If you need me to put up another video about a specific question, let me know.

  • good stuff dj omega, so i see that the song is spilt up into 4 sets of 32 beats because thats what most house songs have, 128 beats. when your mixing from one song to the next and you are using the eq's, are the sets of beats you're showing over a period of one minute? do you have to do the fading from one song to the next within one minute?

  • The mixing is not limited to 1 minute. I you look at mixing trance, some transitions can be for a few minutes. It is all about how the songs work together. You can also drop song two 64 beats into the song and only mix during the next 64 beats. Hope this answers your question. If not, shoot me another message. Thanks for watching.

  • wow this is really cool

  • Great visual demonstration.

  • Great. Can you make another vid (the same as this) explaining what to do if the EQ knobs are labled as "Treble" "Medium" and "Bass" for a Dj Controller mp3 e2? This is the soundcard that I have and I am relatively new in learning the advanced mixing techniques.

  • @xxxvoltage7 I'm glad somebody noticed it. Great album.

  • hey aqualungggggg

  • @TheHevquip first thing i noticed too... brilliant

  • Lol, a DJ with a copy of Aqualung in the background. My mind = blown.

  • Aqualung is a great album. I also have it on vinyl!
