Here be another poem from the Donkey of the Primitive ;)

The evening was chaos
The sky flashed an eerie blue
Followed by Zeus' uncouth growl,
I stalked the early hours through the pavements when
My ears apprehended a howl that struck the fear of Apollo into my heart
I was ready to follow into the void
That plummeted so far beneath the Earth. Now I'm relaxed in a vast ceramic room
Surrounded by faces in an oceanic haze,
Who are they I wonder,
Are they awaiting their impending doom
To fail in the achievements they falsely portray,
Or are they simply waiting for an answer
That curious wonder to come spiralling into their
Naïve minds and leaving all logic falling behind.

A scent ferments from my clothing
Tonight's antics resting in my breast
That smell will address all of those who carriage by
But I pay no heed to their contradictory thoughts
For I'll be carried on a cloud aloft to the philosophy on high.

Silence,
Unadulterated soothing silence,
Ghostly, spiritual I'm drawing in the literature,
Figures from many cultures converse in a strange
Lucid languages and I feel proud to be part of this.

Now the deluge has come settling on this city
Emigrating from above I'm engulfed in it's shadow burdened
By it's effect
I'm finding it strenuous to stand evolved, erect
Feeling more like a barbaric monstrosity
Shuffling through the alluvion
Of a biblical proportion,
I inspected the celestial sphere
For the ancient God's voltaic spear! In the comfort and warm radiance you took my hand and squeezed
Your soft vocals floating on an oral breeze
And I remembered the time we parted ways
We had been smoking then
I'll tell you now it left me paranoid and afraid,
In those days when we shared company
We made an abode from ignorance
Living in perfect harmony. It exists in the past within the dead eyes of my consciousness
Being released in minimal doses
Reminding me on occasions
Leaving the realms of my eyes salty and viscous.
"They look like Charles Manson victims" I heard you speak
Standing next to me,
I snapped back to the moisture of reality
Lost in a damp mist twisting my sensibility.

  • Wow - compellingly not dire.

  • @bobbydj01 lol did you think it would be dire?

  • @donk525 Hmmm - let's just say my current experience of youtube poetry leads me to think that in general it errs towards the egregious. Just as my own would. ;-)

  • @bobbydj01 ahh I get you man, yeah there are a lot of really bad poets out there on the tubes but occasionally you come across some good ones :) I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • some nice words and well put lines in this deluge ...

  • @ChannelThePoetry thank you I thought you might like it since you're a very good poet yourself :)
