Giants Past and Present: The Giants-Dodgers Rivalry

In "Giants Past and Present," from MVP Books, author Dan Fost tells of the long and bitter rivalry between the Giants and the Dodgers - a competition that started in the 19th century, when Brooklyn and New York were separate cities, and continued when the two teams moved to San Francisco and Los Angeles in 1958. This video features some of the photos from the book, as well as Fost telling some of the stories from the field at AT&T Park.

@TheChuckpo Oh yes, Dodgers like Eric Gagne and Manny Ramirez would never use steroids. And I'm sure the Giants are the only team ever to steal signs - unless it was the Dbacks stealing signs off Lincecum last week.

I appreciate Dodger fans weighing in - just after the Giants took 2 of 3 in LA, and now that the Giants are in a playoff hunt that the Dodgers can only dream about! Bring it!

the dodgers have more championships on the west coast. the dodgers have 4 million more fans in attendance since 2000 than the giants. we had lasorda and robinson, and koufax, and snider, and valenzuela, and reese, and drysdale, and orel, and alton, and cey, and garvey, and lopes, and kershaw, and kemp. the dodgers on had a little under 100,000 less fans when the giants chocked in 2002. i suggest you think before you post next time

i am a huge dodger fan and I understand the rivalry but i dont understand why we have to be so mean to each other its not like were playing in the games... and like i said huge dodger fan so is my day and hes been waiting a long time for them to win again... i can even say that as of lately the dodgers suck except for a few players... but we dont have to take it out on strangers over the internet....just root for your team and get on with your lives...
