dude, hindi is not aka sanskrit. sanskrit is a language by itself. hindi derives most of its vocab from sanskrit, but also from the words introduced to the region(s) during times of invasion. a beautiful thing about the subcontinent of india (i include pakistan which i believe shouldn't have separated but those involved were heavily swayed by british @#$%ers) is that there are 1000s of spoken dialects. whoever writes these songs chooses words that best fit the sentence, mood, meaning & scene

yeah, they are. A lot of the words are similar. And even if you're a person who knows Urdu, it's easy to pick up sentences in Hindi and know exactly what they are talking about.
