can you tell me the steps in which it uses to translate. I understand conventional opposite wheels. But this is new to me.

Well good luck with the set-up. I'm going to build a more traditional weighted bar spinner. It's going to be my first bot, so all this is a learning experance for me.

hey, m looking at making a translational spinner bot (bout 6kg) and im wondeing, is it just a case of wiring the motors up to a esc and giving it "teh beans" (by which i mean driving forward :P) or do i need to use some type of programing (like a arduino style thing?) ta jack

yes - you're going to need a microcontroller - google "translational drift" - and you'll get more info on my project

I'm working on a port to WinAVR (C) - should be ready fairly soon (month or so).
Bascom AVR is around $100 - while WinAVR is free... feel free to email me (my address is easy to find on my website)

will do :) i suppose winavr is compatible with pololu b-168's? or i wonder if a baby orangatang would work ?

if you mean the "full-size" orangutan with the LCD - that should work fine.
(that LCD is probably going to crack in combat though)
the little one "baby orangutan" should also work fine. it's what I'm using.
only difference between the b168 and b328 is the amound of memory on the chip.
