This is my rat Button who couldn't leave me alone! she just wanted to be with me, and she would even try jumping :S

i love rats. your's is especially lovely. this really makes me miss my rate, zoe. she'd do this too.
rats are amazing pets; they are far more intelligent & funner than hamsters or guinea pigs & they very rarely bite. (hamsters bite randomly and for no reason) and...well they're adorable.

@neo10147 Pet shops are bad to get rats from. As most of them develop something wrong. I got mine from a friend's mother who has loads of them and accidentally had a litter of babies. She bought a few from the pet shop and they all had something wrong and died prematurely. The conditions they keep them in at the pet shops are bad. Mine are absolutely fine as technically I did get them from a breeder, nothing has been wrong and they're 2 years old very soon. I love 'em!

@birdielarouge That's exactly what I was thinking of. It's really sweet and proves they have a well evolved sense of empathy. My rat Scabbers does this too. When I am playing with him on the couch and I get up, he follows me and looks at me like he's saying "mama! mama! Take me with you!"
I like to take him with me in the bathroom when I am getting ready for the day. It's a nice, ratproof room for him to play in. When he doesn't want to run around any more he will climb up my pants and sit himself on my shoulder. He also tries to do this when I am not wearing any pants! Ouch.
