This is an art piece from Burning Man 2007.

It is a spinning zoetrope portraying a half-ape, half-man creature (the beast is tailless, though many refer to it as the "spinning monkeys") swinging form branch to branch of a stylized tree, while being force-fed an apple from a serpentine arm and hand.

The steel and aluminum sculpture, 24 feet tall with the circle of ape creatures 28 feet in diameter, is the brainchild of San Francisco stagehand Peter Hudson, who has built at Burning Man before. It was constructed with the help of a big crew including, among others, fabricator Steve Valdez and lighting and electronics tech Joe Martin.
