@bdb9133 I'm not suggesting every commercial item be preempted with a "this is to fleece you" message. But when called on it, at least have the balls to acknowledge that it is so. Attempting to convince me that your intentions are noble as opposed to self-serving creates the opposite effect. I might even be likely to BUY a product that is presented to me honestly even if I don't really need it. That is what makes this different from just about "every single thing we watch/read/listen to".

@2000jago your welcome for the sermon......but in response to your "why not just admit you are milking the lost audience to make money". Is that honestly what you think people should do? Because if so.....i'm pretty sure every single thing we watch/read/listen to would have to be preffeced with a "hey jsut so you know...im doing this to make money". I mean cmon dude, why would anyone actually say that? Thats just poor form to even suggest.....

@bdb9133 Thanks for the sermon, but by the same token why can't I express the opinion that this is a case of someone "cashing in" on Lost? My point is not that I take issue with what he's doing, I take issue over the fact that it's done with subterfuge. Why not just admit to milking the Lost audience with the promise to answers the show itself didn't provide and be done with it? Why try to disguise it as a "gift" to the fans, but oh, BTW, you need to pay me 10 bucks in the process...

@2000jago It isn't that LOST is a niche audience. I believe what he is saying is that the fans of lost that are dedicated enough to purchase and read a book about the mysteries of a show that is no longer running is a very niche group.
And why can't it be both? Can the author not create something for the fans....being a fan himself, AND make money off it? Isn't that every single humans dream....do something they love and make a living doing it?

sounds like a book for people who didn't watch Lost, but if they didn't watch then why would they buy this book? and if you did watch Lost (every episode) then why would you buy this book?

@Dahgrostabphri Some good questions! Par for the course for LOST fans who are usually seekers. The book reveals how LOST contained hidden messages that give us answers about real life, so would definitely be something fans would enjoy. It also offers an alternate ending that, unlike the actual ending, explained all the mysteries with one simple solution. Whether you love or hate the book's alternate ending, its main purpose was to show how we all live on the island and how to use that in life.

@Dahgrostabphri Totally agree everyone that watched Lost know the answers to this questions, why to buy a book that "answers" to the questions that already the showed answered by itself?

@ducky1888 The book offers an alternate solution to the mysteries presented in the show--one that explains them all with one simple solution which the show really didn't do. It also uncovers the hidden meaning of the show's mysteries and how we can use them in our own lives. For those who were completely satisfied with Lost's ending and are not looking for any deeper meanings, the book is probably not for them.
