Well done. I saw you were trying very hard but very good. When it will not move on a long lead Put your hand to the nose band and shake with your wrist. Also make clicking noises with your mouth for encorougement

Most gelderlanders' have no back end - its a trait of the breed - and your girl (although I agree has major problems) looks conformation wise like a typical gelderlander! bless you for putting in so much effort with her - she is a lovely girl and I have never met more loving horses than gelderlanders!!

cont.. the new is good though as you just need to build up more hindquarter muscle to support the patella. My vet recommended high steps over telegraph poles/ sleepers and said that its easy to confuse this sort of pain with shivering. A high oil low starch diet will also help. Good luck with her and im sure as her strength improves the symptoms will disapear, my boy is so much better already!

i have a 3.5yr old warmblood with similar symptoms, i bought him in august this year and when he arrived i was worried he was a shiverer.(he acted just like yours) However my vet xrayed him and did loads of tests and all the problem is that his patellas(stifles) are partly locking. If you look at your girls first video you can see her offside patella sicking as you ask her to move back. This is very similar to someone having a dislocating knee cap and obviously is painfull!! cont
Thank you for your comment.its hard work but am seeing an improvement in her condition xx

cont.. this is very common in young horses with poorly muscled hinquarters or in horse that have been on box rest for a while so its not unusual in a young horse like yours

Thank you very much for your comment. One of my friends is an equine physio and is working very closely with me and Filly. she is showing some signs of improvement. am beginning to think that she has a few problems so am bringing her into work to build up her hind quarters as well as changing her diet and keeping her rugged up over the winter. Thanks again for your comment and sharing your experience. am glad your boy is getting better x

continued...Herpes is responsible for neurological conditions in humans for example encephalitis so it may have a part to play with some equine conditions. Her immune system will be low from fighting the virus so it cant do any harm to give it a boost. am going to try her on the supplements and see if there are any signs of improvement. Johnny thinks there should be a noticeable difference within 2-3 weeks.

Am about a month on from this video.Spoke to a man called Jonny Summers from Silver Lining Herbs. He took a look at the videos of Filly & has suggested feeding his Immune system builder & the HRP supplement. This is because on inspection she has herpes vesicles on the inside of her top lip which look like small blisters. The herpes virus can attach itself to nerves causing head shaking & shaking of the limbs in some cases. 80%-90% of horses carry the virus without showing symptoms.
