Demos in this video add add colorful, animated text as titles, credits, captions or overlays on clips. Movie Maker version 6.0. Earlier versions may not have as many text and animation choices.

(1) Go to Tools, Titles and Text, and select where you want to put the text (as a title, on a separate clip before a selected clip, as an overlay, or as a credit.
(2) Select Animation and test some of the choices to decice if you want the text to appear without moving, scroll, zoom in and so on.
(3) Select Fonts, Colors and Sizes
(4) Click Add Title (even if it's a caption) to add the text.

@padrak18 Sorry I am not using Windows Live, which goes with windows 7. I bought Adobe Premier Elements for about $80 to use when I got a new Windows 7 computer. You could do a youtube search for text editing wmm windows 7 and search google too for some tutorials. good luck
