A cigarette lighter is not fast enough to keep from getting burned. The grill lighter on the other hand, can be held without worry as it sometimes takes more time than is expected to warm the pilot to allow gas to be released.

Use a grill lighter instead of a cigarette lighter. You are further from the flame and won't burn your finger as easy.

it did burn me you just have to be fast if you going to use a gas cigarette lighter
