  • @eddiekern Nice. This should be the top comment on this vid!

  • @stupidjunk878 Onkyo is a bigger name brand in receivers than Sony.

  • EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!!! - I have the same switching problems as described in the video except my Wii video doesn't work at all. I bought my TX-SR606 almost 3 years ago and realize it is outside the standard warranty period. However I just called Onkyo prod support and they said they are well aware of the issue and have extended the warranty for this problem. Go to Onkyo website and fill out the "Contact Onkyo Support" form. Hopefully they will do the same for you as they did for me. Good luck.

  • My Onkyo TX-SR 606 HDMI's would not 'see'/recognize my new Roku XD2 movie-streaming device. When I hooked up the Roku directly to the TV it worked fine. Problem then is, I could only use the sound from the TV, as my speakers go thru the receiver.

  • I have the same problem after a year of owning, then I had to keep it on for 20 minutes for anything could work and now my PS3 and DVR will not show...frustrating.

  • @UniqueAverage No. Just no. Do not comment if you don't know anything. HDMI upscaling of analog sources (the Wii in this case) has been a widespread and documented problem for years. The problem is with the capacitors on the HDMI daughterboard. Telling people to go out and buy an unnecessary and overpriced HDMI cable is just stupid.

  • its your hdmi cord... if you unplug it then plug it back in it will work.. just for that time... i recommend getting best hdmi cord you can find... :)

  • OK, understood. I am facing an issue together with many other Onkyo TX-SR606 owners.

Fortunately still 3 months warranty :) Just requested a service repair at Onkyo.

Now I really like to know if the SR606 is the only troublemaker under the Onkyo AV receivers, or do other models face the same issue?

  • Mine does the same thing with xbox 360. I can get cable to come out when I first turn on the tv and reciever. But my blu ray and 360 on DVD/HDMI 2 and AUX/HDMI 4 just get a no signal on the tv. I have to switch back and forth between cable and aux to finally get my xbox signal to come through. have no idea whats going on.

  • That's why you should always stick to big name brands like Sony
