This video explains the different properties of Priority Queues and CBWFQ's and how the bandwidth can be allocated. Congestion avoidance mechanisms such as WRED and Class-Based Queue Settings are briefly described as well.

bulk/transactional traffic not as time, loss, or jitter sensitive
queue allocation (using LA), reserving bandwidth
congestion avoided mechanism WRED used to drop packets to throttle back tcp based apps
reduce congestion using class-based que settings
