hey thanks for the reply, i tried writing this last night but youtube mustv had a bug. anyway is that whole reversing the usb plug thing a general thing that just has to be done or is it possible that you just had a faulty controller. also i was thinking of buying a touch screen off of ebay,

wow thank fuking christ someone has finally shown that it can be done on the 900 HA
all i keep finding is that tutorial on how to install it by that dude who "isnt very good with computers", and there was no proof that it actually worked!
i intend to do this mod as soon as i get my 900HA but i had serious doubts on whether i would because it didnt seem like many people had actually done it. i was looking at the cables and they did look a little short from the picture, but soldering isnt an issue

(CONTINUED) to the USB hub/controller. Basically, switch each of the 2 wires on the side of the plug with each other, then swap the 2 wires in the middle with each other.

Yep, it works fine. Just a tip, dont tighten the screws on the screen much at all, or you will get cracks in the corner of the screen frame over time, only screw it in enough that it just holds. As for the USB plug, if you buy the touchscreen kit from dealextreme, if you connect the kit up how it's pre-wired, when you start your eee, it will turn on for a second, then shut itself down. You need to reverse the plugs on the lead that goes from the webcam USB (CONTINUED IN NEXT REPLY)
