Thank you so much for posting this wonderful footage.
No such talent and presence in entertainment today sadly

Actually the three camera technique was in use from the pre war days of TV. The one camera shot used here may be due to a deliberate director choice, the need to have the other cameras ready for the variety show host or other guests, or (as sometimes happened) the other cameras blew out and they only had one left

this was the first record i ever brought a 78 it brings back memorys

@Strawberry7Lynn Apparently the American program "I Love Lucy" was the first to use multiple cameras on TV, to rather good effect, I might add. What I think is REALLY funny about old TV is how the stars of the show would often all of a sudden break into advertising ("oh, look, doesn't this Belling oven heat evenly?"), and how they often advertised things like cigarettes ("smoke them - they're GOOD for you!")

A rather odd garment - but maybe she was known for odd garments in her TV appearances in the '50s, to judge by the other clips I'm seeing on YouTube.
-
@Strawberry7Lynn In those days they often didn't have many cameras to use - that's why they had "Interludes", so that they could move the cameras from one studio to the next

Television in it's infancy, before they learned to switch from one camera to the other.
