must be some reason why they need all the resource, its not that easy to bring down the patient by using the stair, more worst when the size of the patient is one of factors..they are expertise on they job, they know what better and supposed to do if something like this happen..the primary objective is saving the life..and that is why the resource provide to us..and only paramedics know the situation..
Because You as a paramedic / fire fighter, you need to act really fast you cant waste anytime. it would have taken longer down the stairs, carrying etc. n if the patient has a serious injury, e.g with the back or neck, then carrying him donw the stairs would be a bad idea.

Ridicolous, half an hour to bring a patient without trauma at the back...from the third floor to the ground...a lot of people and resource for what?
There were a outside stairs just there...I suppose it was enought to be there three emt and a backboard to do every thinghs.
The patient hasn't any infusion and no oxigen so how was seriousely his conditions...

When you call 911 no matter what you get police, fire, and usually an ambulance.
