Spore Arcadia from Captain Harlock

I really wish there was a test drive function for spaceships... Instead I just had to take a video in the editor (If you're wondering why it's off-center, and has a jerky camera).

Anyway, I was never really a fan of the show, but I always thought Captain Harlock's ship looked pretty badass. So I decided to make one on my first playthrough of Spore.

I had to use the 'freedom cheat' to pull it off with that level of complexity, but can you fault me? That ship has too many damn parts!

Also I made this before I figured out that you could rotate pieces with modifier keys on the keyboard... You can imagine the pain it was to make things at a perfect diagonal angle... Lots of hidden sphere parts inside this thing!

3 turrets, 3 barrels each.... the ship is awesome, but the turrets need 3 barrels, not 4... sorry, if i sound like a jerk for pointing this out...i kinda like to see ships that look like what their name is (only talking about the turrets at this point)

Yeah, I know. This isn't a completely accurate scale model or anything. This was built in a game with a pretty limited editor with no decently-scalable three-gun turret prefabs. I also had to deal with a part amount limitation which prevented me from doing as much detail as I would've liked. If I recall correctly, the parts I used for the turrets were actually dual rocket clusters. I used 'em because they were efficient on parts, and in a profile shot they resemble turrets.
