It's propoganda, an ad for Chrysler and a legitimate fundraising attempt all in one. I guess these were a regular feature on CBS in the 1980s.
Helen Reddy tells us why America is so totally awesome, and then we learn why working for the man is totally awesome, and then we're asked to give money to clean up a big French statue.
I miss the Cold War.
i think you mean Olivia Newton John, Helen Reddy has Addisons Disease.

Restoring the Statue of Liberty was Chrysler chairman Lee Iacocca's pet project during the 1980s, along with rebuilding the Chrysler Corporation (and, apparently, keeping Ricardo Montalban employed).

Helen is OK in my book. I also believe she is a breast cancer survivor.

Well, but Helen helped a generation of women, she supported AIDS charities, boycotted Tuna because of Dolphin concerns, and most of all she is critical of the Iraq War. Helen loves America, but she doesn't have to agree with Bush & Co. I love Helen Reddy!
