This actually makes sense for primitive tribes for the continuation of their people and to ensure that the daughter is taken care of as the parents have very short life expectancy

lol @ Yvonne Power getting all frazzled at a forced marriage. With a name like Power, she's got to be Irish.
I wonder what would happen if one of these Himba tribes people showed up in Ireland on a Fri/Sat night where every Irish pissheads is out on the town getting totally wasted where ever alcohol is accessable... and tried to tell them that binge drinking is socially unacceptable and leads to long term health effects?
I wonder what the Irish would say to that?

This is so sick. I wish it hadn't happened. I wish Yvonne or one of the film crew had adopted the poor girl instead. :(

@Lotus201877 A forced marriage is quite different from an arranged marriage. The United Nations views forced marriage as a form of human rights abuse, since it violates the principle of the freedom of individuals. The Roman Catholic Church deems that for a marriage to be valid both parties must give their consent freely. This girl obviously does NOT give her consent and that makes it a forced marriage. It is wrong no matter how you look at it

@Dracopol Africa’s golden age is well documented actually and not only by Europeans. Arabs wrote a lot of literature about Africa. The Africans of the Songhai Empire were writing and they left behind lots of documents. Nubia is documented by Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Nubians themselves.
