The first time I heard this song was in it's rough form- in Sambo's house after a meteor street gig - Jayse played us a tape of a song he wrote under the infulence of erm well LSD as it goes.. His mate "Rob" provided the bass on the recording.. We were all blown away by it- our collective reaction was "You guys should form a band" - and they did.. :+)

This song is by far my favourite and this is an exceptionally loud take.. The power in the song lies in the solid my bloody vallentine esq driving rhythm section ; Deaths muscular persistent pulse, Rob on this occasion providing the smooth bass figure which drives the song along.. Jas - it has to be said is an incredibly gifted psychedelic guitarist, effortlessly yet brilliantly using dive bombs of pulsating ethereal delay wah wah that sound very similar to Hendrix aller "1983 A Merman I Turn To Be" {on Electric Lady Land no less!} and no one pays so much respect to Hendrix's otherworld of soundscapes like Jason.. so fairplay - I think their can be no higher compliment! You know what? He deserves it.

Taking their name from a little known yet brilliant song by shoe gazing band Swervedriver, Psyflyer are a psychedelic/grunge/funk band that started out around the same time as other Worcester bands such as Meteor Street, Toxic Pijin & Fatboysarehardertokidnap. They started off gigin at the aural pleasure promotions/tea break gigs put on every Sunday at TJ's pub {r.i.p} in the town centre. In my opinion they have always been one of the tightest units in the town and always seem to play with energy, enthusiasm, vigour and above all else really really loud. Fronted by Jas a strange Muppet like character with a short term memory yet an amazing wah wah lead funk/shoe gazing style on guitar and vocals, augmented by the talented fingers of funk/jazz bassist Rob, but the real power of the band is of course the enigmatic Death on drums.. They describe themselves as a chimera monster of styles which I think is fair enough as nothing else really sounds like them.. More Psyflyer to follow.. .. Also you will notice ping pong balls.. I'll explane that some other time this was quite a llama lounge wasn't it? .. More Psyflyer music can be found here
.. http://www.myspace.com/psyflyer ..
Also please check in my videos section for earlier Psyflyer circa 2006ish another earlier yet more relaxed version of this song ; "Blue Planet" been a highlight of these..

  • Hey. I've been listening to your music on Youtube and on your Myspace, and I was wondering..is there anywhere I could acquire your music? Let me know.

  • Hey are you refering to Psyflyer here? They have an album but it's a little tricky to get hold of if you don't live in worcester.. Try contacting them through myspace maybe..

  • Funny how automatic your text seems and even funnier that although "Tubeviews" may have done wonders for your videos. It's done fuck all towards making your grammar seem realistic or improving your spelling..

THANK YOU It's Amazing! Thank you SO MUCH!
