Solar System: Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and is the largest planet in our solar system (it would hold 1,317 earths, though its mass is only 318 times that of earth). Jupiter was the supreme Roman deity, also known as Jove, and he ruled over laws and social order. His Greek counterpart was Zeus. of love, the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. The planet is composed mostly of hydrogen and some helium, and the clouded surface is filled with storms and turbulence. The music is from Gustav Holst's seven-movement orchestral suite, The Planets Op. 32. This particular movement is called "Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity."

Nice pics, but now that I think about it, there are quite a few paintings of him being a rapist/ pedophile from the Renaissance. These depictions were popular among the princes in Italy and many great masters were contracted to paint these. eg.Titian and Corregio.

Also, why are some of the moons named after women/boys he brutally raped? Europa was raped. Ganymede was a Shepperd boy raped.

Io, not rape by greek standards, but rape by modern standards. Somehow they're forced to circle Jupiter?
