3D Laser scanning and modelling of a 65' Tug in preparation for hull extension. GSS/DJA captured accurate 3D hull lines and created a 3D IGES hull model for this 1950's tug that could be used to plan the splitting and extension of the vessel using one of our assembly systems. The survey was carried out over a single day on a floating drydock using a Faro LS880 laser scanner and key points measured using our Leica TS1302 Total station. Processing was done in a mixture of Pointools, Rhino, VX, Solidworks and 3D Reshaper to give the best results.
