@ToolsnFire Hiya. In my humble opinion The Horrors' "Skying" - it has the same level of experimentation imo. We are in a deeply austere age, and music like this will be cherished in years to come.
There are two albums from 2011 which, in 30/40 years time will be remembered as all time greats. Portamento is one of them. It is so refreshing to hear a group of young musicians approaching their instrumentation in a naive and honest way. This is largely due to their home recording ethics. I haven't heard synth playing as beautiful as this since Billie Currie was riding high with Ultravox.
