This is a semi long lecture by Benny Morris on the displacement of Arabs within Palestine. I give all credit to
medisraelforfred for these vids. I posted this primarily in response to n8glenn's reason for why Palestinians hate Israel. First off I find it ironic that someone is trying to "justify" hatred for a whole nation of people. Secondly he wrongly states that Palestine was a country before 1948. He fails to explain in his vid that Palestine was a province of Syria and most Arabs considered themselves Syrians. 3rd Settlers were not welcomed by Arabs, read any history book on Israel (look up white paper act). 4th not "alot" of Jews immigrated to Palestine during the rise of Hitler; the British reduced immigration due to Arab riots (most who left went to America and 6 mill who stayed in Europe died).
5thGlen fails to mention that Arabs constantly called an end to Jewish immigration especially during rise of hitler, they could care less about holocaust. The Arab Pal leader himself was a Nazi and wanted Hitler to clean Palestine of Jews.
6th Glen makes it seem like before 1948 everything was just GREAT and PEACEFUL, again grab any book on Israel, read Tom Segev One complete Palestine, Arabs rioted in violent anger (robbing, beating, killing, rapping) pre 1947 or 48.

6th Glen fails in mentioning that Arabs were offered in 1938 by British peel commission a better land petition that gave Arabs more land than in 1947 (Arabs outright rejected it).
7th Fails to mention that Arabs already had 80% of Palestine with trans-Jordan. Arabs were given Galilee and land near Jordan river, which were naturally the best lands. Some Jewish lands were rich mainly because they built them up, Tel aviv was originally desert.

8th Arab Pals did not like petition because of hatred out of the thought of a Jewish state, it did not matter what size it was or occurrence of "evictions." Why would "superior" Arabs want some Dhimmi Jews in power over "Arab" and "Muslim" land?

No offense to glen, but his argument is quite simplistic, has altered view of history and Benny Morris tells it differently with a more balance view. Nothing personal strictly doing it out of love and respect for history.
