Why cant protools save songs automatically when it crashes like Logic 9 does?

I have my guitar plugged in to Inserts (TRS)>1 and there isn't an option for that on the interface drop down.. The only thing that shows up is Mic/Line 1-2 (Stereo)

All I want to do is record my guitar straight through an input...
