Space saving furniture that transforms 1 room into 2 or 3

Resource Furniture sells bookshelves, couches and desks- and a combination of the above- that are so highly engineered that they gracefully transform into beds.

Gone is the amusing awkwardness of Murphy Beds, this more modern transforming furniture (much of it designed and made in Italy y Clei) is high style and almost, well, magical. Hydraulics make the transition from bookshelf or couch to bed a smooth and effortless thing to marvel.

In the US, you can buy from Resource Furniture, but it looks like you're in France. Much of the furniture he is showing was designed by the Italian company Clei. If you go to the original story on faircompanies, I have links to both Resource Furniture and Clei.

over 30 years as a mattress/ furniture expert. not many industries have as much profit as mattresses. it is all elephant shit... do you have a sofa? does it have removable seat cushions? put cushion on floor (only 2 needed) bam! instant pillowtop bed. the japanese just call it spongy. get real and stop throwing money at this bullshit from guilt of having money.

Should, but there are probably reasons why we don't. I was trying to find prices for these solutions on their website, but there are none, so I don't know if these are things that a middle class family can afford. If the inventions are so fancy that they're priced only so the rich can afford them, the rich will just go out and get a larger condo, so this sort of furniture never gets sold on scale, thus never reaches its target market.

The question I have is, are these things affordable for the middle class? I mean, these sound like great inventions that a family living in a typical Manhattan apartment could use, but if they cost a pretty penny that only the wealthy can afford (who would probably just get a larger space anyway) then these inventions don't do much good. I tried to get prices from the Resource Furniture website, but they just said "request a quote," so there's no way to compare.

Although I am purchasing a 1600 sq. feet place ( 150 sq. meter ) in the historic center in Barcelona, we want to break it all because my 10 year old son is trying to be a professional tennis player and we want a lot of space during the day where he could exercise, play and even skate!
