It's been four years since the US government took over the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who buy mortgages from lenders and package them into mortgage-backed securities. A new report has been released by the inspector's general office for the federal housing finance agency showing that since 2008 taxpayers have spent 190 billion dollars on the companies. This is despite the decision made earlier this year to cap pay for executives at Fannie and Freddie Anthony Randazzo of the Reason Foundation joins RT's Kristine Frazao to discuss what's going on.
