MANILA, Philippines The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) hands out its first Star Awards for Music on October 29 at the Skydome, SM North Edsa, West Ave. Quezon City.

At stake are 21 awards in categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Male, Female, Duo and Group Artists of the Year; there are also separate categories for the Best Pop, Rock, R&B, Alternative, Revival and Compilation Albums.

PMPC consulted music professors, composers and other respected music personalities.
