A silent movie showing the finer points of installing the NS Boomerang (created for the NS Bass Cello) on the Steinberger Synapse TranScale guitar. http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/systems.php#boom
Yes, it can be done, and it is a huge improvement to any solid body instrument. Why silent, you may ask? Because you don't want to hear the ridiculous banter of those off camera while Ned was undertaking the serious business of drilling holes in a guitar.

  • Ned and I live in the same state. He is a very nice, very approachable guy and loves to talk about his designs with musicians.

  • Amazing! how come u met him? does he do such things always personally?

  • @nausea87 Ned is always looking to meet musicians to try out designs. Our paths crossed a few years ago, since we live in the same small state. He's just a regular guy doing extraordinary things, and he is very interested in what people do with his instruments.

  • Ned is a great guy ! As one of the first Steinberger endorsers I've had him help me with a lot of mods thru the years. Question: What is a NS Boomerang ?

  • @Vazmusic It's a strap system that Ned developed for the Omni Bass, similar in function to the pivot plate on the XL2 basses, but totally rethought. I love it on my guitar.

  • I am not sure what kind of epoxy it was, but it was a 24 hour cure.

Believe it or not, there was no squeeze out that wasn't sequestered by the masking tape!

  • I'd let ned steinberger drill a hole in my guitar any day, he doesn't even have to install anything, just the hole will do. The mans a living legend.

  • I'd let him drill a hole on my skull and operate on my brain any day he wants
