CPT meaning certified personal trainer, and a degree in kinesiology from Salisbury State where I was a captain of my national championship lacrosse team. I have no military experience if that is what you're alluding to, but my brother, a marine, just returned home from Iraq and my best friend is leaving in a few weeks. You literally are making no point in what you're saying and are completely disregarding the entire meaning of the original post. Idiot..

power snatch refers to catching the weight above parallel. a snatch would mean catching the weight in a full deep squat position

I really love the video. Youtube is good for this sort of thing.

My best friend was previously bullied. He stated he was going to get bigger. I didn't believe him. Right up until he gained 40lbs of absolute lean muscle mass. He tried the Muscle Building Bible - look for it in Google. He doesn't get bullied anymore. I subscribed last week. Not to mention this guys emails are fucking excellent...

That's because to get CPT all you do is take a stupid exam you can study for in a week, yet employers still require we have this bullshit certification (ie pay a company and do CEUs to maintain the red tape). It's all about corporate American and business deals between gyms and certification bodies. I have a BS and a M.Ed. in kinesiology/exercise physiology, and I still had to get NASM certified to get a job as a personal trainer yet ppl who trained longer without degrees get paid more...

Well, actually it will increase explosiveness. You need to explode harder in order to get the weight higher, and there is less of a grind (front squat) afterwards. I've never heard about the knee problems before, but I can see why it could be true. Same way as a quarter squat is bad for your knees/back. I think the difference with a snatch is that the weight for a power snatch is so low compared to your squat weight that not fully squatting wouldnt hurt your knees.

No offense but being a CPT means nothing these days. You're actually right, but I've heard many more CPT's say the exact opposite. The amount if wrong information I have heard from CPT's is astounding.

    Correct.

It's called CNS drive, and is one of the main components that determines athletic level.

You can do snatch from the ground, which is what I beleive is power snatch, or hang snatch where the bar is hanging from about knee height.
