An Oklahoma woman suffering from depression has found solace in the company of an unusual companion, but local city officials worry that the therapy pet - a partially paralyzed kangaroo - could become a public safety risk. (April 1)

Well, this animal is alive and so doing, it provides for some discussion. Where are you all getting this woman's mental picture? If she is keeping an animal alive and showing it to nursing homes, that is more than a good idea, it's therapeutic. Leave this alone and accept that someone has found a way of helping.

this animal need a proper qualified carer not a mentally unfit woman, and as for feeding it cheetos they are even bad for humans.  Going to her page her story changes by the day, she is very abusive and is only in it for the money and fame. About time the council there had the balls and took it away from her.

Im sorry, this animal should be taken away from her - she needs a dog. BUt aside from that, its not about her - its about IRWIN. She feeds him junk food which keeps him in sloppy poos all the time - which is killing him, Red kangaroos dont like humans - you wont find them in zoos. Unless you know how RED KANGAROOS are, then you have no idea what damage she is doing to him.

The Kangaroo is more sane than women in the whole state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma ranks as the highest percentage per capita state for middle-aged female sustained mental health dysfunctional patterns in the U.S. Women yielding towards more so "exotic" animals country wide is very common under such ebb of mental health incapacities. A lot of crystal meth use is becoming more prevalent amongst such women in the state largely substantiated by economic downfall. Don't date a Lady Okie - go for a Belle!

@oyonan What the hell does Christopher Reeve have to do with this? Even if the kangaroo did not fully recover, it should still not be in the 'care' of a mentally unstable person, especially if it is only for her benefit and no regard to the kangaroo's wellbeing.
