  • Also, to say the the 18 year old owes his country something, because he's free, has opportunities, etc.--is to imply that he has these things by the benevolent kindness of his country and especially his government. In other words, his gracious country has allowed him to live a free and happy life and therefore he owes it something. But this is backwards. Government exists by the privilage extended by the people, not the other way around.

  • Conscription renders the principles of the free-world closer to that of the tyrannical one. Conscription is a sin that must be purged with FIRE!!!!

America might as well have officers that execute running conscripts much like the Russian Commissars of WW2, in order to keep to "cohesion" of the team. If you want conscription, please do it all the God-damn way and show your true colors. Don't pretend to speak for freedom while inkling on the slightest notion of conscription.

  • @tipoomaster Oh good, then I don't have to invoke Starship Troopers, and get back to fighting facism.

  • @AndrewChan84

I don't think they do either, I was just referring to those who use physical differences as an excuse.

  • @tipoomaster who says women can't front line. Ca-hones does not dictate front-line capabilities

  • @lalieth Not to mention that every atom on the surface of your chunk of the planet is due to the benevolent kindness your government, and your society that provide wombs to raise your ass. Of which, even your ca-hones would not of formed if it weren't for them. So maybe, due to this irreducible philosophy, you at least owe serving them with your ca-hones which would otherwise be idle and redundant as far as the "greater good" is concerned?

And that you should "think proper to admit" it

  • @lalieth Conscription is a gentleman's game of ca-hones, where you get drafted to shoot another draftee in an ass-end of nowhere. There you will get to train your ca-hones with other fellow draftees on the other side shooting back at you because you were shooting at them.

And when you come back home alive, you will be elevated to a higher ca-hones status by your society as you have became a man.

That's why think its so important.....

  • @HoIlowhead

Without a doubt, sexist and unfair. Sorry to be so hardline but anyone who says otherwise is full of BS, there are plenty of non-combat roles to play so physical differences aren't even an excuse. Genitalia do not dictate the value of a life. That said, I'm against the draft in its entirely, regardless of who it targets.

  • This commentary mentions the drafting of males & females; however, the current registration requirements by the Selective Service System only involve males. Failure to register may have negative effects on future endeavors-including employment opportunities. This is the current inequity which needs redress. A teen female didn't know this was the case but agreed with the unfairness of the current status. Comments or solutions?

  • @MasterTao89 Ron Paul is from Pennsylvania but yea i catch ur drift.

  • @madderbass

Obama hails from Honolulu, grew up in Jakarta and Hawaii. Neither of those would be considered northern, he didn't get to Chicago until much later.
