This is a video of how I apply my CA glue finish to my wooden pens. I have to admit that this finish is very easy and can be done by anyone who can turn a pen...no doubt in my mind.
I think the ghosting depends on a lot of things (the ghosting is like dull spots in the finish this could be down to the type of timber-speeds old CA glue and human error.
just made a couple pens using this technique. best tutorial ever! thank you so much!

Grubb, when you say ghosting do you mean turning white. I did one and it turned white when I used the accelerator. Could it be my speed was to high?

I bought a 10" commander with a rehostat from Penn State Industries.....I really like it, works well for making pens and other small things.

@goingwiththegrain little wax on end of blank and bushing will stop it from grabbing or you can use Delrin bushings.

when i did this to my pen i always had the blanks stick to the bushings then its a pain to get them off
